Dr. Sean Rumschik

Sean Rumschik, MD is a psychiatrist and founder of Smart Psychiatric Medicine, PLLC in New York City.  He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc., a member Board of the American Board of Medical Specialties.  He also has a Certificate in Nutritional Psychiatry from the Integrative Psychiatry Institute.

Dr. Rumschik's practice focuses on diagnostic evaluations and personalized treatment planning.  Prior to beginning Smart Psychiatric Medicine, he was an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine, where he led treatment teams, supervised resident physicians, and taught clinical skills to medical students.

Dr. Rumschik completed his psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, where he was awarded the Cynthia Horner, MD Award for Excellence in Research.  He has published peer-reviewed research in the areas of neuroscience and physician decision-making, and has presented at conferences nationally.

He received the Clara March Scholarship to attend the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, where he graduated receiving the S. Mouchly Small, MD Award for Excellence in Clinical Psychiatry.  He received his ScB with honors in neuroscience from Brown University and has an MFA in poetry from the Iowa Writers' Workshop.
